Here is a compilation of our 2 week working visit to the ISURU Preschool last month. Together with my team members Annet Kloprogge, Simone Konigshausen and Lilian Vos. It was a fantastic experience to be with the kids for 2 weeks. We’ve helped the teachers, went on a school trip, celebrated New Years and had the pleasure of attending the school play and New Years games. We’ve interviewed parents about the reason to bring their kids to our school and the need for a bigger, more suitable building. We’ve had very efficient meetings with our partner from Sevakanka Foundation Mr Krishantha, met with the Chairman Mr Harsha Navartane and spend a lot of time with the teachers to find out the plan for next year, their worries, their questions etc
The ISURU Preschool is a valuable part of the village of Talpe and needs to continue in a new building that meets all requirements set by the Sri Lankan Educational Ministry. We are hopeful and positively optimistic that with support of friends, family, Foundations and Stichting Wilde Ganzen we will reach our goal to fund 35.000eu to build this new school so ISURU Preschool can stay. Wilde Ganzen will add 50% of the total of all funds because they believe in this project !
