Since summer 2017 we are happy to welcome several volunteers from Holland that come to work with the teachers every morning.

In Nov 2017 we got an unusual request from 3 girls from 17 that wanted to write a paper about the Development of Sri Lanka and the purpose and goals of our ISURU school. Our standard for volunteers is 18 years as we need our volunteers to be very independent and have travel experience. I suggested to the parents of these 3 girls that if they would be accompanied by a parent it would be ok. And so it happened. Kim, Josien and Robina came for a week and helped the teachers with their day to day activities. Meanwhile they also interviewed Mr Krishantha our project manager and some of the parents to hear about the influence ISURU has on our kids. After school they had plenty of time to explore the surroundings of Talpe so they visited the beautiful beaches, some of the Temples and the Turtle Nursery.
